"Is there an "I must act like a bloody idiot" clause written into your contract, or is it just you?"
- Something I came up with while watching telly really late at night....
Righto.Terribly sorry about the hiatus, but sometimes things get out of hand. But today is Tuesday and I've been having trouble getting to sleep on Tuesdays lately, so I might as well use the extra hours doing something resembling something useful, yeah?
So apparently there's a new X-Men movie coming out. I saw the [really big] display for it at the movie theatre when I went a couple weeks ago with a friend. [True Grit was just as good the second time around as it had been the first.] And I'll probably go see the X-Men because I watched the first four and I like a good action film.
Also, The Hobbit is becoming a reality and I am thrilled. And no, that's not just because of a rumor that a certain David Tennant might be part of the cast. I liked the book, read it a few years ago. Apparently the movie will be in two parts, which I like; it's a large story and try as one might, one would miss a lot of things if one tried to squeeze the novel into one film.
- Writing news - [because you're all so thrilled to hear me talk about my characters and such]
I'm about half way through figuring out where exactly my novel is going. The main characters have apparently developed minds of their own, and yes, I realize just how crazy that sounds, but I can assure you I had no original plans for the main character to become a drug addict. That was very much unexpected.... or maybe I've just been watching too many old episodes of House M.D. lately. There is also some semblance of a plot now, and for those of you who have known me for a while, you know spectacular that is and you're probably all taking bets to see how long this euphoria lasts before I'm back moaning about how I have no plot.
Script Frenzy starts in less than two weeks and yes, I am very excited. I am writing a dystopian, and I have grand plans for thinking outside the bloody stupid box.
I have some pretty nice neighbors. One of them, Ms. B., always askes how my writing is going and almost always encourages me to talk to her about what I'm writing and always asks questions and she's just awesome because she's actually interested in what I'm talking about. Another one, Mr. S., he has this hobby of rocks and cutting and smoothing them so that they're really nice to look at and he let me choose from a selection of stones that he smoothed and I now have a very nice inspiration rock. Although, if you think about it, most of my neighbors are pretty neat in their own ways.
And I think that's it for now. Yeah, I think that right here's a good place to stop.
